Social Enterprise Community

Experience from the business community and the social economy movements in North America and Europe confirms that perhaps the most valuable contribution to be made to social enterprise development is to assist the sector to network, convene, self-organize and to do business with one another. In the UK and Quebec, governments have made sizable contributions to building the networking capacity of the social enterprise sector. It is important that other jurisdictions follow this lead by encouraging formal and informal relationships within the social enterprise sector.

The long-term sustainability of the social economy will depend on the sector’s ability and willingness to share knowledge and support each other through a strong social enterprise community.
