Afghan Women's Organization

Location

The Afghan Women's Catering Group was created in 1997. The primary purpose of this Community Economic Development (CED) project was to alleviate the economic and social hardship experienced by Afghan women and their families living in the Greater Toronto Area. The Afghan Women's Catering Group currently employs 10 women and a volunteer coordinator. Several members of the group have taken on specific roles, which are essential to the group as well as to learn new skills, which can be considered transferable in the future.
