The Chuckling Civet Coffee Company
Location
At The Chuckling Civet Coffee Company we strive to support the farming families of the Asipulo region in the Philippines by selling their coffee and handicraft products from the Pula Women’s Society here in Canada. All of their coffee is harvested from a shade-grown conservation area that supports bio-diversity and the conservation of all animals within the forest; hunting is prohibited throughout the park. Our mission is to educate the surrounding farming community by showing them that success can come from ethical sales of coffee products, and that their forests and animals should be protected at all costs.
By purchasing The Chuckling Civet Coffee Company products the families in the Asipulo region of the Philippines directly benefit through the increased demand on their coffee and handicrafts. The families of the area will then begin to learn that success can come from ethical coffee sales which promote wildlife conservation and natural education, and that measures should be taken to increase environmental protection throughout their now threatened area. The bags that our coffee is sold in are also sewn by the Pula Women’s Society, an organization which empowers women and allows them to productively contribute to the community’s income through their handicraft work.
