Fiddleworks Community Development Society
Fiddleworks has been in existence for almost 12 years, first as a socially minded sole proprietorship (1999-2006) and incorporating as a non profit society in 2006. During this time we have organized 11 very successful Fiddle Camps on Salt Spring Island in addition to many other wonderful community building activities in BC and the Northwest Territiories. Fiddleworks regularly hosts Barn Dances, one day workshops, weekend jamborees and musical performances in BC and the NWT. We also sub-contracts music administration services to other music organizations to help them get music events started in their communities.
We are expanding our work through the collaborative development, creation, and implementation of creative educational programs which use music to develop leadership, teamwork, self esteem, and life skills. Our goal is to provide accessible, affordable music education for children and adults delivered with heart and skill by dedicated professionals.
The purpose of the Society is:
- To foster community through music, celebration and education.
- To create and implement educational programs which use music to develop leadership, teamwork, self esteem, and life skills.
- To provide accessible, affordable music education for children and adults
Fiddleworks brings people of all ages together to share in the joy of music, develop life skills, and build community.
Fiddleworks is building community at a local, regional, and global level through active participation in music.
